Alfa Art Gallery is excited to host an all-media exhibition, “The Space Between: Questions of Place in Times of Uncertainty” for the Women’s Caucus for Art New York Chapter (WCA NYC).
This virtual exhibition will explore the relationship between female identity and the environment, evaluating women’s perceptions of place amidst a complex social climate through a myriad of perspectives. By compiling works of women artists from a variety of backgrounds, demographics, and authentic experiences, the exhibition allows audiences the opportunity to identify patterns between women’s circumstances and surroundings on both individual and collective levels.
WCA NYC encouraged submissions from a diverse female audience to enable underrepresented voices to participate whilst highlighting the inherent values that women hold concerning concepts of dwelling and place. “The Space Between” sought multiple interpretations on the theme, including two and three-dimensional works and audio-visual installations to create connections within an admixture of mediums.
