About Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern
Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern has an educational background in arts, with an MFA from Jersey City University, as well as a BFA from Parsons School of Design in New York City. This is reflected in her rich, expansive achievements throughout her art career: solo exhibitions, even more group exhibitions, multiple residencies, as well as many publications for her work.

Artist Statement
Reimagining art historical subjects is one of my main interests, and I have created artwork during Covid-19 that re-interprets art historical human contact. “Six Feet Apart Rococo Two” is a collage-based work dealing with feminine space and contact. Women in the 18th century most often needed accompaniment by another woman to secure their identity as a socially compliant and “pure” woman. Using today’s pandemic guidelines of social distancing, the female chaperone would have to be at least six feet away from their charge.
