Opening Reception: Friday, April 26, 2019 @ 6:30pm
Alfa Art Gallery is pleased to announce the New Brunswick Art Salon 2019 Oil & Mixed Media Exhibition. We will be featuring work from various artists with themes of impressionism, abstraction, and interpreting the surreal. The exhibition is titled “Transcendent Impressions”
To create art is to harness the power of expressing the experience of moving through the world. Our senses and understanding of life are enhanced by the traits that make us inherently human: emotions, memories, dreams. The inevitable incorporation of complex ideas into the creation of art takes our impressions of the world to a deeper and more conceptual level. In this way, we transcend the mundane and see the world not only as it is, but also as it is experienced. This exhibition features art that ranges from moody landscapes to complete abstractions, revealing the ways that art can be defined as transcendent impressions of the world.
We invite you to please join us for the opening reception on Friday, April 26, 2019 which will feature a brief informational presentation about the exhibited works and their artists. Some light refreshments will also be provided.
Featured Artists: Brittany James, Carole Jury, David Derr, Diane Revels, Bob Sullivan, Sandy Drob, Vadim Levin, Vincent Buchinsky, Wayne Freitag, Sara Slee Brown
About New Brunswick Art Salons
The Alfa Art Gallery is a non-profit organization dedicated to the discovery, growth, and support of emerging and established artists. Since we opened our doors in 2008, we have worked to achieve this goal through exhibitions and events held at our gallery throughout the year, the most successful of which have been our New Brunswick Art Salons. Drawing inspiration from the traditional art salons of the 18th and 19th centuries, we have used these events to connect talented artists with the New Brunswick public. The success of this program since its inception in 2010 has allowed it to grow and expand. Originally consisting of a Spring exhibition of Water Color and Mixed Media and a Fall exhibition of Oil Color and Mixed Media, through the support of sponsors and patrons alike, we have been able to add a Winter photography exhibition and more recently a Summer All Media exhibition. We believe that visual art is a universal form of expression which can bridge cultural gaps and provide a forum where diverse perspectives can be shared and appreciated and we hope you will join us for this upcoming melding of the minds.
