We sat down with Katherine Gibson and Emily Van Walleghen to discuss their life, private boundaries during the pandemic, public health, and how politics and health have intertwined creating a national tapestry filled with tangles and tears.  We explore public COVID-19 data and diagrams and how both artist interpreted or used this data, translating it to numerical and visual information from each month into curtains that represent:

  • Social isolation is a privilege 
  • Graphs and charts obscure the human cost behind the pandemic 
  • We must acknowledge our interconnectedness and interdependence at both the international and community levels
