Columbian born, New Jersey raised, Juan Giraldo’s personal and political views as an artist were influenced greatly by the city’s working class. Themes in his work include verisimilitude, identity, and dignity. What may appear to some as mundane are revealed by Giraldo to be beautiful and dramatic.
