John Edward (Jack) Keenan, a resident of Highland Park, has lived in New Jersey since 1996. Originally from Cincinnati Ohio he attended CCM, (College Conservatory of Music) at the University of Cincinnati where he graduated Cum Laude in 1991.

A few words from Jack Keenan… “I’m drawn to music by something that I can’t explain. It’s an impulse that has been with me for as long as I’ve had memory. As a child, I would gladly have played any musical instrument, but my Mother, with four kids and no husband, wasn’t able to provide me with either an instrument or a musical education. Attaining these things on my own perhaps taught me to value them more.  Jazz music, as it has come to be called, has what I desire and need. It has beautiful harmony, interesting and challenging melody, rhythm that propels you, and most important of all, improvisation, which provides a format for me to express my musical thoughts and emotions in real time before your very ears! I have been listening to Jazz and learning how to play Jazz Guitar from the time I was a teenager.  There are many styles of music that I enjoy listening to, but the one I want to spend my time playing is Jazz.”
