About:
The theme of this event will center on awareness of place, landscapes and environment through a combination of visual and performing arts. The exhibition will feature drawings, sketches and models made by students of the Landscape Architecture department at Rutgers University (www.landarch.rutgers.edu). From precise, crisp lines of the drafting pencil to soft sweeps of charcoal and conte crayon, these images demonstrate a wide variety of tools and techniques used by designers to capture place. The event will also include live poetry performances by poets from the Douglas Black Student Congress and Verbal Mayhem on the theme, adding a dynamic and equally expressive element.
From this multidiscplinary approach, we hope to expose the public to unique perspectives of the environment and broaden the dialogues between people and their surroundings.
