2014 – January 10 @ 7pm – New Brunswick In The Eyes of Photographers

NBAS-Photography 2014 - webExhibition: January 10– January 29
Opening reception: January 10th – 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm

The Alfa Art Gallery is proud to present its fourth annual Photography exhibition, “New Brunswick in The Eyes of Photographers”, in cooperation with New Brunswick City Market. This Photography Exhibition is a part of the New Brunswick Art Salon series, in which Alfa invites established and emerging artists to present their works as a tangible presentation of their artistic expression. This winter, we invited photographers to open the audience towards their images of New Brunswick, a cultural and diverse city with various perspectives and viewpoints.

NBAS-Photography 2014 - webPhotography as a medium is especially powerful. A photograph holds nothing but the truth, images that can only be tampered with so much. These series of photographs, dedicated to the city of New Brunswick, provide a different perspective to a city that is enriched by the citizens that inhabit it. While some photographs do not particularly feature New Brunswick, these photographs are just a small example of the artistic integrity that emerges from a city that harbors such diversity.

We are proud to include an eclectic mix of artists, new and experienced, local and international. This salon will feature a “Best in Show” award along with 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Jurors this year will include seasoned art critics Greg Ritter and Nat Clymer. Artists featured in this year’s photography exhibition are:

Andrew Darlow NBAS-Photography 2014 - web

Frank Villafane

I had no idea Alfa Art existed in New Brunswick! So happy to have found it, especially because of this specific exhibition. I have been working on an ongoing personal project to document New Brunswick through photography, and this looks to be the perfect opportunity to see related work and to connect with other photographers and artists in the area.

I am curious whether submission is still open for this exhibition, and if there are any specific requirements. If possible, I would love to submit some photos I have taken to date.

        Thank you!
