Yang achieved the BA in Fine Art at China Academy of Art, MA in Curating Contemporary Design at Kingston University in London, MFA in Creative Technologies at Virginia Tech. She has several years of working experience as an exhibit designer in museums and galleries, such as Smithsonian American Art Museum, London Design Museum, Taubman Museum of Fine Art, The gallery of Virginia Tech. In 2018, her exhibition entitled Renaissance of Mogao Grotto was successfully opened at the Armory Gallery, which used a variety of methods, such as oil painting, drawing, 3D environmental design, 3D Animation, 3D Printing, and Virtual Reality to express the oriental old grotto. The research direction of Yang is to design the parallel exhibitions that combine the traditional display methods with edge technologies, which engage the visitors to appreciate and join the exhibitions in person and online.
