Conseil de la Sculpture du Québec

Vasil Nikov is a Bulgaria-born sculptor and painter based in Québec. Trained initially in painting, his practice evolved toward sculpture, with a primary focus on steel. He holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from the University of Saints-Cyril and Method (Bulgaria).

Nikov’s work has been exhibited extensively in Québec and internationally across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He has participated in numerous international sculpture symposia and public art initiatives, with works installed in Canada, Japan, Germany, Israel, and Bulgaria. His sculptural practice emphasizes form, movement, and spatial dialogue, often integrating stainless steel for its structural durability and interaction with light.

He is a member of the Québec Sculpture Council and the Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec (RAAV), and his work is represented in public and private collections in Canada and abroad.

“Fiery eyes, like the gods of Olympus of the ancient times, he creates … He invents worlds to see, universes to feel, to touch, universes to assess using all your senses. Vasil Nikov is the master artist of graphic arts in all their dimensions.”
