Sandra is an artist and certified K-12 educator originally from East Stroudsburg, PA, now residing in the tranquil setting of Supawna Meadow Refuge in Pennsville, NJ. Her abstract artwork, characterized by intriguing layers, reflects the multifaceted layers of her life. Sandra specializes in harnessing the elements of beeswax and fire in creating captivating pieces that evoke a sense of place and magical rejuvenation.

Her artwork has been exhibited in competitive galleries, art centers, medical facilities, and universities across the country, earning numerous awards and a place in private collections. As a certified encaustic instructor with R&F Handmade Paints, Sandra shares her expertise through workshops held in local art centers and her Pennsville studio.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Sandra is a dedicated art educator in Southern New Jersey. She has written and secured school grants, including a Target Grant and an NJ Artists in Education Grant, which funded an anti-bullying mosaic mural. Her innovative teaching methods and collaborative projects have been shared at conferences and recognized through a Rauschenberg Foundation Power of Art Grant.

Sandra holds an AA from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA, a BA in Art and a BA in Education from Rowan University, where she earned the Gates Award for Excellence. She also holds a MIT in Art History from Studio Art Center, IT, as part of the Seward Johnson Artist Award. Furthering her education, Sandra obtained a MAT from the University of the Arts through scholarships and grants from the Art Educators of NJ, where she remains an active volunteer.

Committed to supporting the arts, Sandra has served on several non-profit boards dedicated to visual and performing arts and arts education. Her passion and dedication to the arts have been recognized with the NJ Governor’s Award and the Guadadiello Service Award.
