“I have always been attracted to figuration and the inherent narrative that people bring to painting. People painters arestory tellers and I have always been a storyteller. There are today extreme levelsof vitriolicanimus aimedatnumerous minority groups, I have been compelled tocounter this bycreating paintings which show groups ofpeopleat play. Park scenes became the perfect conduit for me to express how diverse groupings of people of all races andcome together, intermingle, and peacefully play. This common space allows the human family to drop their defensesand interact without fear. My delight has been to observe and paint these large gatherings ofpeople enjoying eachother’s company in the open air bathed in lightor snow. It has become intensely pleasing to observe how the humanfamily can indeed coexist within the harmonies of nature.”
