To Veneta Karamfilova, photography is but an “extension of the mind.” Her photographs are the crossroads of the simultaneous realities of her imagination. The rounded shape of her photographs give the allusion of teasing the viewer with a glimpse into the life of the subject. This peephole, albeit miniscule, is sufficient to allow viewers a welcome escape from their own realities.

One of the most alluring aspects of Karamfilova’s photographs is the realisticness of the images she portrays. Each is layered with just the right amount of shadows, light, texture, and color such that the final product conveys a precise emotion.

Karamfilova received her Bachelor of Photography, and has since been awarded various scholarships. Her work has been on display in many exhibitions and private collections across Bulgaria and the United States.
