Publicity is no stranger to Sonya Stankova; years of participation in the Biennale of Bulgarian photography have catapulted this artist’s career headlong into the public sphere. She has attended various international photographic meetings, and has been invited to participate in numerous festivals, including Lodz and Lille. Stankova’s art extends beyond country borders: not only has her work been exhibited in Bulgaria but it has also been shown abroad.

Presently, Stankova is conducting a study of humans and the presence they inhabit within their environments. Some of the photographs in this project have been bought by private collections.

From time to time, Stankova’s works have been published in magazines, including “Colours” of Benetton, “Marie Claire” of Italy, “Photo eye,” and “PHO” Bulgaria.
