About Michael Yacovino

Michael Yacovino passed away nearly two decades ago, but his work is still as powerful as ever.  He was a local emerging artist whose works have found their home nestled firmly at the juxtaposition between familiarity and ambiguity. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Mason Gross School of Art in 1986. His early work primarily emphasized figures or the abstraction of form, many of which focused on the nude art form and the relationship between light and shadows. As he progressed as an artist, so too did his artwork. He had several dalliances with fashion design before moving onto pursue portraitures and a vintage storybook art style.
