About Jill Vondervor-Frank
Jill retired from the business world and rediscovered a joy and passion taking a watercolor course at the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts. During her life she has consistently taken art classes in the evenings at the New York School of Visual Arts, du Cret School of Arts, South Orange-Maplewood Adult Night School, School of Advertising Art and private lessons studying oil painting, charcoal portraits, sculpture, pastels, acrylics, pen and ink, studied Chinese Brush Painting with Shirley Poo Wills and painted in Sicily with Valerie Larko. Studied watercolor with W. Carl Burger, Angelito David and Elizabeth Horowitz and on location with Ed Havas.
She designed pen & ink drawings of the common buildings for the Lake Wallkill Community in Sussex County, New Jersey as a fund raiser and has done numerous commissions of interesting homes in that medium and watercolor. She keeps a camera in the car to capture just that something in a scene that makes her want to paint it.

I have embraced watercolor since serendipitously taking a class with Elizabeth Horowitz in 2001. I enjoy watercolor’s challenge of trying to accomplish something interesting which caught my eye, a sight that I have never attempted to paint before.
I have had success painting people’s homes, having painted over 50 houses for gifts, as a remembrance or their current home which they enjoy.
I graduated the School of Advertising Art, attended both NY and NJ Schools of Visual Arts, DuCret Center of Art, studied with the premier artists of New Jersey Carl W. Burger and Edwin Havas, and on location in Sicily with Valerie Larko. I am a signature member of the Garden State watercolor Society, the Drew Art Association, past president and current treasurer of the Essex Watercolor Club where I have made many friends to share and enhance our talents.
