About Christina Iacuzio

After spending the last 10 years practicing and developing her skill, Chrisina Iacuzio is an emerging artist working toward becoming a professional artist. Through her art, Christina aims to bring some interest to an otherwise mundane world while also providing an outlet for her wildly creative imagination. She focuses on the aesthetic interest in combining the ordinary and abnormal. Her works are dark yet also whimsical and fun.

Iacuzio does not like to limit her art to just one style or one medium. In her works she uses pen, marker, watercolor, and acrylics. She blends simple line drawings with heavy pigments and shading. Her experimental style springs from her feelings about art as a practice. She feels that there should be no rules when it comes to art. This free spirit produces works that are full of life.

Artists Statement

Sometimes reality gets dull, so I like to create images that are a bit strange and unusual. I enjoy mixing the normal with the abnormal and seeing how pleasing it can be to the eyes. Artisan outlet for my imagination and desire to make the real world a little bit more interesting. After all, as George Bernard Shaw once said, “Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.”I do not like to limit myself when it comes to using different art mediums or styles. In all of my drawings, I like to mix pen with a marker, watercolor, and even acrylic. I enjoy contrast, so I find pleasure in mixing simple line drawings and intense color and shading. I believe that art should not be bound to one style or medium and artists should be free to create using a limitless array of approaches. The more variations in the art, the more exciting and interesting the art is.
