Commencing on June 19th, Alfa Art Gallery will host one of its most exciting and diverse exhibitions as part of “New Brunswick Art Salon 2018”. Entitled “Visceral and Visionary”, this showing is a melting pot of intriguing techniques, media and visions that seamlessly unite to inspire the viewer in unexpected and exhilarating ways. The exhibition will last from June 19th to August 31st.
Artists chosen to showcase their work include: Amanda Yoakum, Chris Ernst, Christine Parker, Undress God, Gene Tanta, Agop Gemdjian, Alphonse Lane, NJ DeVico, Edward Ruggieri, Erica Velasco, Lauryn Ahearn, Manisha Em, Merrilee Drakulich, Rhonda Yanow, Susan Winter, Vera Genovese, Lauren Curtis, Minakshi De, Susan Ward, and Strahil Stanchev.
From oil paintings to ceramics to mixed media pieces, the array of artwork carefully selected for this exhibition is sure to appeal to lovers of all kinds of artistic mediums. The exhibition showcases work that transcends aesthetic norms and prompts viewers to consider introspective ideas and compelling expressions. Each artist in this exhibition adopts their own style, with pieces reminiscent ranging from portraiture to landscapes to three-dimensional works. While each artist has their own meaning and message behind their work, viewers will have the opportunity to interpret and reflect upon each piece. Lovers of neo-expressionism, impressionism, and even primordial works of art will enjoy what each artist has to offer during this exhibition.
An opening reception will be held for this showing at the New Brunswick gallery on June 22 at 6:30 pm. This event will include live music, refreshments and plenty of networking opportunities.
“New Brunswick Art Salon” aims to unite those who appreciate art and culture within the tri-state area and beyond, providing a creative hub of guidance and encouragement for artists. Thus, its exhibitions are always free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, from 11am to 6pm. As the most medium-inclusive exhibition of the year, Alfa extends an open invitation to art lovers and local patrons alike to come and view the works of professional and emerging artists while submerging themselves in an awakening artistic experience.
With the assistance of grants from organizations such as Amboy Bank, the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission, Magyar Bank and the New Brunswick City Center, Alfa Art is confident that all who come to the 2018 All Media New Brunswick Art Salon will leave with a greater appreciation of the arts and the gallery’s showcasing of local, skilled artists.
