About Christine Seo

Horse marching on together

Creating art has always been an important part of Christine Seo’s life, and it is what she has been telling both of her children to value and explore. Christine, born in Seoul, South Korea, displays an aptitude for art at an early age. Art has gradually grown into her talent by the time she got accepted into the Seoul Women University, where she developed her own unique style and began perfecting several traditional art techniques.

Graduated with Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, for fourteen years, Christine taught oil painting, watercolor painting, and drawing at her own Fine Art Academy for college preparatory students. She also taught art to elementary students in Seoul.

In 2000, She moved to United States with her family. While living in Irvine, California, she was an active member of the Orange County Fine Art Association and maintained a studio at the Orange County Fine Arts complex in the South Coast Plaza Village. During her time residing in California, she worked at Laguna Beach with a renowned artist from educator professor Roger Armstrong. The life in Northern Burlington County, New Jersey, Christine engaged in the local communities including the New Jersey Watercolor Association and school activities for Korean children. Such opportunities allowed her to organize several cultural events and art shows to date.  Currently, she teaches high school students at her own private studio while she continues to produce her own pieces.

She has accomplished watercolor and oil painting as her medium of choice. Her watercolor is from Asian painting skills which she learned by starting with a wet brush on white paper or oil canvas. When painting she feels free, loose, and have a natural feeling which develops into sharp contrast values that she obtains with both color and details that she feels her paintings show and interested like color.  Sunny days inspired her landscapes and understanding of shadows. Her passion is Equine where it brings dynamic energy to her soul and love painting for floral, landscape, Portrait, her paintings are full of rich and intense color.
