About Aprajita Lal

Winter Reflections

Aprajita Lal is a distinguished New Jersey-based artist who seeks inspiration from God’s greatest blessing: nature. While watercolor is at the heart of her practice, Lal also works with oils, acrylics, and ink. No matter the medium, her paintings celebrate the energy and richness of the natural world, brought to life through vibrant color, light, and movement. Her work creates a space to slow down and breathe—a quiet invitation to pause, reflect, and find joy and calm in nature’s presence.

Lal’s interest in art began at a young age, when she won First Prize in the All India Camel Color Contest, encouraged by her mother to pursue creative expression. After a successful corporate career, she returned fully to her artistic practice during the global pandemic, dedicating three months solely to painting, a rediscovery that, with her family’s support, led her to pursue art professionally.

Since then, her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows to great acclaim and featured in Creative Artist Magazine (Summer 2020). Collectors across the United States, India, Canada, and the United Kingdom now own her pieces, which continue to touch people with their depth and simplicity. Believing that art is a gift meant to be shared, Lal also teaches in-person and online workshops, guiding others in creative exploration. For her, watercolor’s spontaneity and transparency best embody nature’s spirit, transforming its mystical energy into tangible masterpieces that leave viewers with lasting feelings of familiarity and harmony.
