About Mary Ladd

After 30 plus years working as a print graphic designer, art director and illustrator primarily in the newspaper and freelance print industries, I am dedicating full-time to my love of painting and creating fine art.

Past Exhibitions:

I am beginning the full focus of getting my work out into the public.

In the past, I have exhibited at the Paul Robeson Center, Arts Council of Princeton, and most recently, at the West Windsor Arts Council.

 

Education and early experience:

I was born and raised on a farm in rural Missouri where I enjoyed a simple rural life and the natural beauty of nature. I graduated Cum Laude from Culver-Stockton College with a BS in Art Education. At age 25, I moved to New Jersey to pursue career opportunities.

 
 

 


Artist Statement

         Mary Clark Ladd has a background in graphic design and illustration. She currently is focusing on fine art, most specifically painting. Her art is a fusion between realism and abstraction, and is influenced by her love of graphic and architectural design. Her unique creations are built up with layers of color and texture intended to add depth and dimension to each piece. She likes to approach her work in a unique way by adding unexpected details. She paints a broad range of subject matter – from people, pet and house portraits to flowers and objects, or any subject matter that inspires her. She likes to mix up the subject matter and approach to keep the creative process fresh and exciting.
