Ken Hamilton grew up in Washington State, where he began his education in the field of art at Spokane Falls College, Seattle’s New School of Visual Concepts. He then moved to New York and studied at the School of Visual Arts. There, he became a freelance illustrator, a job that is clearly reflected in his mastery of the watercolor medium. In fact, he has worked in many other avenues, but he believes that his ability to be versatile with watercolors gives him the best outlet to express himself. In addition to appearing in several galleries and exhibitions, Ken was the 2008-2010 President of the New Jersey Water Color Society. He was also invited to show at the Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolour Exhibition in China and at the Salmagundi Club received the high honor Thomas Moran Award for Watercolor in 2010. This year, he was chosen among 30 artists for the prestigious traveling tour with the National Watercolor Society. By Linda Rosenblum
