DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Duration: January 12th – February 29th 2016 Opening Reception: Friday January 22nd\, 2016 from 7:00-9:30pm  \n \n  \nAlfa Art Gallery is pleased to announce collaboration for the second year in a row with The Raritan Photographic Society in the 2016 New Brunswick Art Salon: Photography Exhibition. Alfa is always enthusiastic about merging existing art clubs\, organizations\, and societies\, in order to give artists new exposure to the New Brunswick community. A specific focus will explore the experience of travel\, whether it’s cross country\, or capturing unknown landscapes outside the United States. This exhibition will give viewers a chance to escape their everyday sights and learn about alternative destinations. Join Alfa Art Gallery and The Raritan Photographic Society at our opening reception night on Friday January 22nd from 7:00-9:30pm. There will be music\, light refreshments\, and a brief informative curatorial introduction will be presented. \n  \nExhibiting Artists: \n\nBarbara Eggermann\nPaul Eggermann\nSusan Powell\nJamie Shombert\nRichard Doerr\nEdward Hughes\nHilda DeSanctis\nCarol Buinno-Petscavage\nWilliam Petscavage\nEllen Reardon\n\n  \nAbout the Raritan Photo Society\nRPS originally started in 1929 with a small group of photo enthusiasts regularly meeting in each other’s homes. At present\, the society has 50 paid members and many more regular visitors who attend the lectures\, which occur twice a month. RPS has witnessed the amazing evolution of photography from glass plates to today’s powerful digital photo technology.  \nThe society’s photographers are united in a mutual love of photography\, but maintain their individual aspirations as to what they want to achieve with that love. There are members who are professional photographers as well as members working towards achieving professional status. Its members choose to work in a wide spectrum of styles from photo realism to abstraction as well as members who are still looking to find their own style.
