DESCRIPTION:December 10\, 2014 – January 29\, 2015 Opening Reception: Friday\, December 12\, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. \nThe Alfa Art Gallery is thrilled to present its third annual Small Format/Affordable Art group exhibition. Please join us on Friday\, December 12th\, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. for the exhibition opening reception. \nWhat the artwork lacks in size the artists make up for in talent. The exhibition will showcase a variety of mediums and themes\, the only requirement being that the pieces are confined to 12 x 12 inches or 12 x 12 x 12 inches. Practical sizes and affordable prices make these pieces excellent holiday gifts. \nEach artist has creatively conveyed his or her own perception and style within the measurement stipulations. The artists’ different approaches add complexity to this dimensionally uniform exhibition. The exhibition includes acrylic\, oil\, watercolor\, and pastel paintings\, as well as photographs\, collages\, wood\, and mixed media works. Beyond this variation of medium\, there is even further stylistic variation. Vesselin Kourtev and Balesh Jindal\, for instance\, both employ color juxtaposition and organic imagery in their paintings\, but the overall effect of each is distinct. \nAlfa Art Gallery is a non-profit organization dedicated to the discovery and support of emerging and well-established artists.
