Melissa Torro – Curator

Melissa is a painting student at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University class of 2011. She earned her AFA in visual arts at Middlesex County College in the Spring of 2009, graduating with highest academic honors and a Leadership Citation for being President of the colleges Art Club. Her work was shown this past summer at at the MCC Alumni Show with fellow local artists.

Melissa began working for Alfa Art Gallery as a curator in March 2010 to gain work experience in the art community and explore her interests in both art and people. Her plans for the future include earning her MFA at a reputable school, gaining experience as a working artist and ultimately becoming a college professor. In addition to working for Alfa Art, Melissa is a coach of the youth swim team at Rutgers University and is a Supervisor at her local YMCA.
