About the Art Salon

In the 18th and 19th century, Art Salons were the greatest annual or biannual art events in the Western world, celebrating the farthest advances in academia and the arts. The Alfa Art Gallery, in order to bridge talented and highly esteemed artists with the New Brunswick public, holds its own Art Salon exhibition biannually in the spring and fall. Please refer to each Salon’s page for details. The Alfa Art Gallery New Brunswick Art Salon has been a successful program for the past six years. Previously twice, now four times (Winter: Photography; Spring: Oil Color /Mixed Media; Summer: All Media; Fall:Water Color / Mixed Media ), during the year, we present salons exhibiting emerging and professional artists in different mediums. The goal of these salons is to bridge the gap between artists and their communities, as well as unifying this diverse city of New Brunswick through the use of art.
