Artist Statement:

Tania is our guest artist from Canada who has international shows. As seen in her list of exhibitions, she frequently exhibits in Canada.

“My paintings are my identity and life; that is the reason, why my art may vary in so many ways.

I am a big fan of Lewis Carroll and his “Alice” books.

Usually I work on large series of paintings. One of them is -“Through the Looking Glass” series. The main idea of these paintings is the theme of “game”- chess, allegory between chess and life.

The theme of dream and life in dreaming world of Wonderland and Looking Glass attracts me in Lewis Carroll’s Alice books and I try to depict that in my paintings.

I think Alice had a special gift to see wonder in common life around her, a quality often found in artists and creators. She could also distinguish what is important and what is not, which made her the best friend of Lewis Carroll

When I am busy with my art works, I am immersed in them, not in reality.

I can’t repeat my paintings because I cannot live my life twice; as an artist and a human being I am constantly changing.”
