Margie Samuels is inspired by the everyday. She paints places that the average person would never think to find beauty in. She uses light as a focus in her paintings, and she is passionate about her signature vivid color palate. Majoring in fine arts and graduating with honors, Samuels studied at Brandeis University where she honed her craft. From there, she went on the study painting at the Arts Student League in New York, as well as the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts. Currently, she works in West Caldwell, New Jersey where she has her own studio and teaches adult and teen watercolor classes year round. She also spends her summers teaching a workshop at the InView Center for the Arts in LAndgrove, Vermont. Margie has won several awards for her paintings, and is also showing in many private and corporate collections. Presently, she serves on the Board for the Essex Watercolor Club and is a member of several other local, state, and regional arts organizations.
