Georgi Petrov — www.georgipetrov.com
Georgi Petrov was born in Dobrich, Bulgaria. He lives and works in Sofia. He earned MA in Art Management from the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts in the town of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He owns an art gallery in the town of Dobrich, Bulgaria.
To me, painting is a heartbeat, love, perception, impetus, state, mood, experience, emption, at times spontaneous, but always created with an open soul: It is born in the interaction between two worlds – the one inside us and the one outside – that establishes another particular reality inspired, however, not always by heroes and happenings which somebody has in.
Drawing is a mystery. If you fall into its vortex, all rules, laws and bans become irrelevant. Everything pours into a convention that you impregnate with a particular, unpredictable, free expressiveness of the hoardings and eruptions of the soul. Multilayered ecstasy is generated of movement, of rhythm and unfolding of color, a unique magic that completely enthralls you. Then you lose track of time and reality. Everything is there in the focus of creation, of a mystery that captures all spaces outside you in order to build a new world. At times this world is hard to fathom, or it is complex in terms of emotions that you have- to a greater or lesser degree- succeeded in synthesizing and instilling into your work.

All of this gives rise to different understanding and insights into the painting, its different impact and perception.
