In honor of Bulgarian Seasons, artist Lidia Simeonova presents an eclectic collection, which together reflect the variety of mediums and style that she has experimented with in the past and present. Spending many years as an abstract artist, Lidia expresses that the human figure has always persisted in the creative process. Ms. Simeonova’s paintings record her living experience as an artist and trace her journey from Bulgaria to Czechoslovakia to Germany to where she now finds herself working, here in America. Her research and observations of the differences in human portraits and emotions of people and cultures throughout the world has influenced Ms. Simeonova’s exotic and provocative style. Her paintings represent a radical departure from traditional European style. In her portraiture you’ll find a tender and lyrical synthesis of the old, modern, and non-western art worlds.
