Celebrate the Holidays at Alfa – An Evening of Classical Guitar Performances by Musicans Patrick Durek and Nicholas Hay

Duo Solage, consisting of baritone voice, sung by Nicholas Hay, and guitar, played by Patrick Durek, is one of New Jersey's esteemed classical music duos. An offshoot of the respected quartet Ensemble Solage, the duo has premiered numerous solo works, and continues to expand the chamber music repertoire through commissions and dedications by some of the most important composers of the early 21st century. Sponsored by such organizations as the Composers Guild of New Jersey, The Peabody Institute, American Composers Forum, New York Women Composers, and others, Duo Solage has had the privilege of performing at such legendary venues as Christ & St. Stephen's Church, in Manhattan, Renee Weiler Recital Hall at Greenwich House Arts, Drew University, Montclair State University, St. Timothy Music Festival in Maryland, and at the historic Trinity Church, in Woodbridge. In addition, Duo Solage has given sold-out concerts to audiences at such historic venues as the Barron Arts Center and the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, and their recitals have been featured on television broadcasts in New Jersey.

Guitarist Patrick Durek is emerging as one of New Jersey's most esteemed classical guitarists. He has premiered numerous solo works, and continues to expand the chamber music repertoire through commissions and dedications by some of the most important composers of the early 21 st century. Sponsored by such organizations as the Composers Guild of New Jersey, Peabody Institute, American Composers Forum, New York Women Composers, and others, Mr. Durek has had the opportunity to perform at such legendary venues as Christ & St. Stephen’s Church in Manhattan, Renee Weiler Recital Hall at Greenwich House Arts, Drew University, Montclair State University, St. Timothy Music Festival in Maryland, and at the annual Christmas at Westminster Concert in Princeton. In addition, he has given sold-out concerts to audiences at such historic venues as the Barron Arts Center and the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, and his recitals have been featured on television broadcasts in New Jersey.

Nicholas Hay, is a member of the Opera Company of Philadelphia chorus and co-founder of Ensemble Solage. Ensemble Solage is an ensemble based in New Jersey and New York City in which Mr. Hay collaborates with classical guitarist Patrick Durek and pianist Iris Chen. Mr. Hay received a Bachelor of Music and Masters of Music from the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. He has appeared with the Opera Festival of New Jersey, Washington Summer Opera, Ash Lawn Opera Festival, The Bard Festival the Baltimore Opera Company, Da Capo Opera Theatre and dell’Arte Opera Ensemble. Mr. Hay's roles include Papageno in The Magic Flute, Starveling in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Peter in Hansel and Gretel, Plutone in L'Orfeo and roles in various opera scenes with the Peabody Opera Theatre. Recently Mr. Hay performed the roles of Ceprano in Rigoletto, Zuniga in Carmen, Quince/Prologue in A Midsummer Nights Dream and other small roles with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble in New York City. Mr. Hay is an active choral singer. He sings with the Philadelphia Singers, New York Virtuoso Singers, Collegiate Chorale and other choral ensembles in the area..
