EXHIBITIONS / EVENTS Kamelia S. Tomanova
Artist Statement "After many journeys in my life, I came to Chicago, which is where I live and work right now. As an artist I am interested in different cultures and their collaborations and connections, but in my heart I’ve always kept a special place for my native Bulgarian traditions, holidays and folklore. The inspiration behind most of my paintings comes from the desire to express something within myself and usually associated with the things I like about life or have experienced. Some of my works are metaphoric, others more realistic. The creativity is the most important thing for me. I really enjoy all aspects of the creating process from ordinary things. For some reason, though, the world always seems a better place afterwards. I often work without prior planning of any details, so the creativity and the impulsivity helps me to deliver my emotions to the canvas by experimenting with different materials, techniques and colors. You are more than welcome to visit my website www.kamystyle.com where you can see my paintings which are mostly on canvas- acrylic, oil, watercolor or pastels and also you can get experience with my other works or send an e-mail to me!"
